Manchester United’s forward Marcus Rashford was spotted in a nightclub in Belfast after reporting sick for the club training, reported The Athletic on Saturday.
He was seen leaving the nightclub on Thursday evening before flying back by his private jet the next morning.
Man United boss Erik ten Hag stated that Rashford was unable to train on Friday due to illness as the Red Devils prepare to take on Newport in an FA Cup encounter on Sunday.
“This morning, Rashford was ill and (Jonny) Evans was ill so we have to see how they recover,” the Dutchman said.
Man United have not yet commented on the recent developments.
Remember, the United players were given time off ahead of the crucial FA Cup encounter after the Red Devils played a 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on January 14.
The players returned to training this week and Rashford, as per reports, was part of the sessions between Monday and Wednesday.
As per the reports, Rashford was at the nightclub to meet his former academy teammate Ro-Shaun Williams, who signed for Irish side Larne recently.
It is worth noting that this was not the first incident involving Rashford and nightclubs.
In November, following a thumping 3-0 loss to Manchester City, the 26-year-old was pictured going out for which he was criticised by fans and Ten Hag confirmed having a conversation with him.
“I spoke with him about it. It’s unacceptable. He apologised and that is it. For us it’s an internal matter,” Ten Hag said.
“He’s very motivated to put things right. He’s totally with us.
“He has made a mistake but that doesn’t say he’s not fitting in. I see him every day in training, what he’s doing, I know.”
